ISSA has announced that it is to partner with the Health and Safety Midlands event in its new Cleaning and Hygiene Zone. As part of the agreement the ISSA will lead the zone’s educational programme that runs across both days of the event. A new addition to the regional event series, Health and Safety Midlands takes place on the 12thand 13thSeptember at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
Speaking about the reasons for the ISSA to embark on this project, Keith Baker, ISSA Director of EMEA Services said, "We have a phrase ‘cleaning for health’ which I think encapsulates why getting involved in Health and Safety Midlands is so worthwhile. We believe it’s fundamentally important that the benefits of good cleaning practice are communicated to a wider audience[than just the general cleaning contractor market]. When you consider the business benefits that excellent cleaning practice delivers, such as reducing absenteeism, then the synergy between cleaning and health and safety becomes readily apparent.”
Through its endorsement of the Cleaning and Hygiene Zone, ISSA is looking to relay the message about the importance of cleaning and to bring together the facilities manager and those responsible for health and safety in order to promote an integrated approach.
