Stress Management
A total of 13.8 million working days were lost due to work- related stress in 2006/7. However, many employers have a healthier appetite for addressing their employees' lifestyle issues such as diet, exercise and smoking habits than addressing the causes of work-related ill-health. If firms really want to improve the health of their workforce, they need to tactically address problems like stress, ergonomic issues and poor office design - the issues that are really making their staff ill. The presentation addresses the practical application of the HSE's stress management standards and looks at making the link between good health and good business.

- What the changes in legislation will mean for end-users and protective garment manufacturers
- The hazards in electric arc

Industrial Accident Investigation - Intentional ‘At Risk’ Behaviour.
As ardent supporters of leading edge accident prevention initiatives, Principal People again devote their seminars to the work of the Institute of Industrial Accident Investigators. The Director of R&D at the Institute will present data and findings that are currently enabling clients to pre-empt and counter the potential of worker violation without a clear understanding of the true extent of which, organisations are unlikely to be either inclined, or prepared, to counter it.

The correct method of selection and use of chemical protective clothing
When it comes to choosing protective coveralls, specifications are often littered with scientific terms that users are unable to put into practice context. Chemical protective clothing specialist Ian Samson will cut through the technical jargon to discuss best practice in the selection of limited use protective garments, and once selected, how a protective garment must be put on (donned) and removed (doffed) to avoid the potential for cross-contamination of hazardous substances after the wearer has left the “danger zone”.
