Ireland has come a long way since the establishment of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) in 1989. The Chief Executive of the HSA, Martin O’Halloran, will highlight the current priorities for the HSA and outline key priorities and areas for focus in the coming years.

S1B 11:10-11:55 Colm Murphy, Global Safety Programme Manager - Diageo Delivering a Zero Harm Safety Culture In 2007, with a global lost time incident rate of ca 24.1 and significant inter-regional performance disparity, Diageo recognised their global Health & Safety performance challenge and the potential cultural drivers behind that challenge. In response, the business established a single global vision for health & safety culture with the launch of its Zero Harm Culture programme; by measuring, understanding and actively developing the prevailing safety culture at every site, it would foster a set of shared values enabling a step change in safety performance with an ultimate vision that 'Everyone goes home safe, every day, everywhere'

The outcomes have been significant, with a greater than 80% improvement in lost time accident performance. This presentation shall describe, and explore the application & benefits of, the Cultural tools & processes developed within the Diageo Zero Harm programme that have delivered this performance breakthrough.
