BSC LEADS THE WAY WITH NEW STATE OF THE ART TRAINING FACILITY
February 09th 2009
Officially opened last week by Lord McKenzie, Department of Work and Pensions’ Health and Safety Minister, the £1m new Learning Zone facility at the British Safety Council’s (BSC) headquarters in Hammersmith will offer students an exciting learning experience and provide high quality facilities that will benefit the business community. The BSC’s aim is to make health and safety education accessible in order to save lives and reduce work-related sickness and injury.
Lord McKenzie commented: “The British Safety Council’s aim for the Learning Zone fits perfectly in line with the aim of the recently launched HSE Strategy, namely enabling the community to save lives and reduce work-related sickness and injury. The aim for this facility is one that we would look to others to emulate.”
Fitted out to the highest standard to ensure a superb learning environment, the venue comprises four large training rooms, each with the latest technology, which will accommodate up to 60 delegates for training purposes and up to 80 for conferences. A break-out area offers free internet access via a bank of seven laptops and the in-house Chef John Paul Dineen will serve delegates a mouth-watering choice of freshly prepared ‘brain food’ dishes - proven to stimulate brain activity.
Earlier this year the British Safety Council became a NEBOSH Accredited Course Provider, making the BSC the first health and safety organisation to offer a comprehensive suite of accredited qualifications to meet the needs of the market. The Learning Zone will provide a practical environment for the BSC to implement these qualifications.
The BSC is the Official Educational Partner of the Health and Safety 09 events, register now for the exciting programme of speakers and topics at the Sandown event 24-25 February 2009.
