AUDIOMETER RENTAL PACKAGE ENABLES HEARING TESTS TO BE CONDUCTED IN-HOUSE
September 27th 2007

First Stop Safety has launched a new Audiometer rental package which allows companies to carry out hearing tests using suitably trained staff.

The new Control of Noise at Work Regulations came into force in April 2006. These brought in hearing tests for everyone exposed to more than 85 dB of Noise over a working day. It is also good practice to test the hearing of new staff to establish a base-line.

A cost-effective solution to implementing this in most workplaces is to train staff in carrying out these tests and hire an Audiometer when required.

The Industrial Audiometer Package is PC controlled and is very easy to operate. It comes with a Quick Guide, Guidelines to a good Audiometric programme, Health Questionnaire and a full user manual. All test results are presented graphically and saved for further analysis.

For more details on this package, visit www.firststopsafety.co.uk telephone on 01904 791050.

DON’T FEEL ALONE, USE A LONE WORKER ALARM (6th September 2007)

Many people interpret the term “Lone Worker” as someone working completely on their own. However, this can also apply to employees working in parts of a factory or warehouse on their own, even though other parts of the premises are occupied. If these workers were to have an accident, it may take a long time for help to reach them and in some instances this may make the difference between life and death.
