Now in its sixth year, the Health and Safety Event takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 9 to 11 April 2019. A platform for health and safety professionals to meet and network with thousands of their peers, it also gathers the industry’s leading product manufacturers and service providers under one roof. The resulting wealth of innovation, solutions and expertise available to health and safety duty-holders will be second to none.
More than 130 companies will be on hand to offer advice, demonstrate equipment and technology, and answer questions. These include:
AlphaBiolabs – a UKAS-accredited laboratory providing bespoke drug and alcohol testing for businesses across all sectors. It can analyse a wide range of drugs and metabolites, and provide results quickly – even on the same day – thus helping businesses to save money on salaries while waiting for results and involving less anxiety for all involved. In addition, it offers a complete package of medical assessments, including fit-for-work, safety-critical and working at height. At the Health and Safety Event, AlphaBiolabs will be offering 10% off all new orders and running a candy cocktail competition to win a Fortnum & Mason hamper.
Casella – a leading provider of occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring solutions. These include real-time dust monitors, personal air-sampling pumps, sound-level meters, personal noise dosimeters, hand-arm vibration and environmental monitors. Casella’s products are user-friendly and provide data for risk assessment quickly, simply and precisely. Its Apex2 personal air-sampling pumps are used to monitor an individual’s exposure to dust, fumes and gases. The personal noise dosimeter dBadge2 can record the actual audio to which a worker has been exposed, which allows the sound to be played back to determine exposure sources. These and many other products will be on show at the event.
fuseAware – an app for workers, and a dashboard for employers, that provides real-time data to help improve productivity, worker safety and worker well-being. It enables employers to help people take control of their mental and physical health. The resulting benefits include significant improvements to profitability, greater worker engagement, a more positive culture, enhanced staff retention and stronger brand reputation. fuseAware will be offering a free health MOT to all attendees of the Health and Safety Event. There will be a health kiosk, where visitors can have their heart rate, blood pressure, height, weight and BMI checked.
