The importance of compatibility in the selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be the theme of diversified technology company 3Ms stand at the Health and Safety 2011 event at Sandown Park, Esher, 1-2 March 2011.

3Ms Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division will showcase a variety of head, face, eye, ear and respiratory protective products, many of which can be worn safely and effectively at the same time as other PPE products.
Latest additions to the 3M line-up which will be on show include the 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Air Powered Respirator Welding Shield and 3M Tora Cord Control System (CCS) combined eyewear and hearing solution. Customers can also sign up for a free trial of the 3M Versaflo Powered and Supplied Air Respirator Systems, which offer a comprehensive, modular approach to worker protection.

Meanwhile, Jo Partridge, UK Technical Manager within 3Ms Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division, will give a free presentation at the event entitled Is your personal protective equipment working together?. This will take place at 10.20am on 1 March and 1.40pm on 2 March.
Compatibility is the first of 3Ms designated safety spotlights in 2011, each of which will see the company provide a range of information, support and product solutions to customers with requirements in these areas.

Adele Wills of 3Ms Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division commented: Ensuring individual PPE products are compatible with each other is key to correct fitting and comfort and so to improving worker safety and legal compliance.  Individuals have different face shapes and sizes so what may be compatible for one person may not be for another.  3M has a wide range of products so wearers can try different models to find what is suitable for them.
