On April 6th 2015 The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) came into force, replacing CDM 2007. These new regulations are a move intended to minimise the number of accidents on construction sites and to place more responsibility on clients for the conduct of employees that have responsibility for overseeing health and safety.
ACT is leading the market with this new set of regulations, enabling businesses and employees to remain constantly up-to-date with new revelations within the construction industry. ACT has launched a variety of new products and services to meet the requirements of this brand new set of regulations.
The new CDM 2015 regulations requires clients to appoint a "Principal Designer". The person fulfilling this role will plan and co-ordinate all matters relating to health and safety. ACT has, this year, designed a new course called "Principal Designer Certificate" which explores the CDM changes together with the roles, duties, and responsibilities of the Principal Designer. This practical training course is one of the first of its type.
In partnership with RMS Publishing Ltd, ACT has also released the fourth edition of "The Management of Construction Health and Safety Risk" study guide which supports those studying towards the NEBOSH National Construction Certificate. This new publication also explores the 2015 CDM updates, making it one of the most up-to-date NEBOSH study guides on the market.
This publication is practical and informative and provides workers in the construction industry, particularly clients, designers, contractors, and site managers, with a clear perspective of the significant health and safety risks in construction activities.
