Keep workers safe with Arco's specialist training consultancy and site services showcasing at Health & Safety North

At Health & Safety North 2015 (7th to 8th October 2015, Bolton Arena), safety experts Arco (stand K16) will be showcasing its training, consultancy and site services across four key areas: Mortal Risk including confined space and working at height training, Industrial Occupational Hygiene and Health, Hazard Control and Safety Competence. The company will also be showing its new ArcoPro Fall Arrest Equipment range for those working at height.
For visitors interested in the latest developments in industrial occupational hygiene and health, Arco's Hearing Check Kiosk developed in conjunction with CluisTROM Ltd will be on the stand. With an estimated 2 million people exposed to noise levels at work that may be harmful, industrial hearing loss accounts for about 75 per cent of all occupational disease. Arco's Hearing Check Kiosk screens employees in just 10-15 minutes, monitoring for tonal hearing loss by playing sounds at different frequencies to each ear. With frequencies tested ranging from 250, 500, 1000, 4000 and 6000 Hz, the results are immediate and are illustrated by an in-depth audiogram identifying an employee's hearing thresholds.
In the field of specialist respiratory services, Arco's Fit2Fit Accredited trainer will be on hand to explain the need for different methods of Face Fit testing and conduct live demonstrations throughout the show. With the largest technical Respiratory Protective Equipment team in the UK and Ireland, Arco works with its clients to ensure that teams are appropriately trained on face fit testing, using the correct RPE for the environment, RPE inspection and RPE maintenance.
Raising awareness of the health hazards associated with exposure to Silica dust and the importance of proper control measures with a focus upon the selection and use of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE), Adam Willcock, Arco's Product & Procurement Manager, PPE will be running two sessions on Construction Dust at the show (3:30pm - 4pm on Wednesday and 9:10am to 9:45am on the Thursday, Event Partner Theatre).
Visitors to the show will meet Arco's team of experienced safety and health practitioners who can help them comply with health, safety and environmental legislation. These include DSEAR and COSHH in the area of Hazard Control and a range of IOSH, NEBOSH and CIEH accredited training courses in the Safety Competence arena.
The ArcoPro Fall Arrest Equipment range now provides everything needed to make sure that workers are kept safe, including body harnesses, connecting devices and fall arrest kits supplied in a handy rucksack.
All products in the ArcoPro range are fully tested, comply with all relevant European standards and carry the CE mark. The products are tested during the manufacturing process and again before distribution to the customer, ensuring the products meet the highest specification and perform in the most demanding situations. The range has been designed with specific tasks and types of work in mind, particularly the growth of the wind farm manufacture and maintenance sector, including a new five-point harness solution for rope access work and specialist wire blocks made of non-corrosive galvanised steel for use in harsher conditions.
