RITCHEY ID LAUNCHES NEW METAL DETECTABLE TAGS
December 05th 2008

Identification specialist, Ritchey ID has launched a new range of metal detectable tags specifically for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The IDtect™ tag range is the result of years of development, aimed at producing a versatile, durable identification tag that can be detected by metal detectors used in manufacturing, says Ritchey ID’s Ashley Musgrave.

The tags have been designed so that any tagged item - or even part of a chipped or damaged tag - that accidentally enters the line, will set off the system alarm. This fulfils a vital role in health and safety compliance.

IDtect™ tags can also help to improve asset management efficiency. They can be attached to a wide variety of equipment, including chains, conveyors and trolley jacks, as well as smaller items.

Capable of operating in both solid and liquid environments, IDtect™ tags can be supplied plain, or custom-printed using laser technology, to suit individual business needs. The tags can also carry batch numbers.

“We think this unique new tag offers major benefits for manufacturers, because unlike many rival products, the metal detectable element is an integral part of the tag’s make-up,” says Mr Musgrave.

“The IDtect™ tag has been designed to withstand prolonged use in a harsh working environment, and any laser printed information will remain legible for the tag’s lifetime.”
